
Open Now - Cricket Writing Competition
Calling all young journalists, writers and cricket fans aged 6 - 18!
Do you, your children or young teens like to write news articles about sport? Maybe you are more into made up stories, poetry or enjoy the numbers driven match reports? Why not show us how much you love it with a cricket-twist?
Excite us with your amazing writing and enter our competition. The winners for each category will be published in the Hastings Observer, the shortlist of entries is in for a chance of getting published as a book, online and win some fabulous prizes.
Its FREE. Closing date: 31st March 2020 at 5pm
We have three categories:
6 to 10 year olds
11 to 14 year olds
15 to 18 year olds
Rules are simple but really important (!)
Make sure an adult reads the terms and conditions before they send your entry to us. Breaking the rules means your entry could be disqualified, so please read the terms before you send us your entry.
Your entry needs to be about cricket or the Hastings & St Leonards Priory Cricket Club.
It must be your original work.
Poems at least 120 words.
Articles, stories and match reports at least 350 words but no more than 500.
UK residents only
Entries from 6 - 18 year olds
Do not use the writer's own name or family members, their home address or school in the entry.
Get an adult to read the terms and conditions; and submit the entry.
